Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

BOOK REVIEW
Title: Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters
Author: Rick Riordan
The enthralling sequel to the bestselling novel ‘The Lightning Thief’, ‘The Sea of Monsters’ is a fantasy novel based on mythological creatures and Greek gods. It continues the adventures of the daring Percy Jackson. In Percy’s second year at Camp Half-Blood, events take a sinister turn when the pine tree which protects the borders of Camp Half-Blood from blood thirsty monsters is poisoned by Luke. The only thing which can save the tree and the camp is ‘The Golden Fleece’, which is protected by the Cyclops, Polyphemus in the Sea of Monsters which humans call, The Bermuda Triangle.
The news of Percy’s best friend Grover being kidnapped by Polyphemus and the sudden arrival of his lost Cyclops brother, Tyson adds to the problems. Teaming up with Annabeth, another camper and Tyson, Percy must go on a quest to the deadly Sea of Monsters and save both the Golden Fleece and Grover. But things will not be very easy as Luke and the other evil enemies will do their best to stop Percy and his friends from getting the quest fulfilled. Percy and the others have to believe in their parents, who are Greek gods to help them on this threatening journey.
This book will impress the people who read fantasy books just as it impressed me. The captivating plot of the novel and the thrilling adventures of Percy caused the story to be made into a movie which was a source of attraction for people all around the world.
