Carries war by Nina Bawden

BOOK REVIEW
Title: Carrie’s War
Author: Nina Bawden
‘Carrie’s War’ is an adventurous book about a 14 year old girl, named Carrie and her 10 year old brother, Nick. Carrie and Nick were sent away from their homes because of a war in their hometown. They were sent to live with the angry and strict Mr. Evans and his delicate sister Mrs. Evans.
Nick was afraid of many things like mosquitos, spiders, dark nights and thunder but he wasn’t afraid of Mr. Evans, who had false teeth which clicked when he talked. Their friend, Albert Sandwich was mush luckier as he lived down the valley in Druid’s Bottom with old Hephzibah Green and the strange Mr. Johnny. Carrie and Nick were happy to visit Albert and the other folk until Carrie did something very bad; the worst thing she had done in her whole life.
This book is very interesting and full of suspense. I did not want to put it down until reading the end. This novel would appeal to children and teenagers especially girls. I recommend this awesome novel to all those, who seek for books with adventure and suspense.
